  • Nematicide MoA now added to the IRAC and GRM MoA Apps

When using the IRAC and GRM MoA Apps on your mobile devices, you will now be able to open the menu and select the Nematicide Classification or Structures poster using the links as an alternative to the normal insecticide and acaricide MoA. To revert back just use the menu once again.

  • IRAC Nematicide MOA Classification Poster presented at the 53rd Annual Meeting of the Organization of Nematologists of Tropical America (ONTA) , Cairo, Sept 2023

As part of continued awareness efforts, the IRAC Nematode WG Poster “THE IRAC INTERNATIONAL MODE OF ACTION CLASSIFICATION SCHEME FOR NEMATICIDES” was presented at the 53rd Annual Meeting of the Organization of Nematologists of Tropical America (ONTA) held jointly with the Egyptian Society for Agro-Nematology (ESAN) annual meeting in Cairo, Egypt from 24 to 29 September 2023. Over 80 nematologists, mainly from North & Central America, Europe, the Middle-East and Africa, attended the meeting. The poster was well received and it was an ideal opportunity to raise awareness of the work of the IRAC International Nematode WG and to encourage those attending to reference the work and act as advocates for using such schemes in crop protection labelling in their countries.

  • The IRAC Nematicide Mode of Action Poster at the 7 th International Congress of Nematology,

The 7th International Congress of Nematology, held in Antibes, France from 1 to 6th May 2022, was the first global in-person international gathering of nematologists in more than two years (due to the covid restrictions)!  It was very well attended, with more than 500 participants coming from all over the world and others still able to join remotely to make some presentations. It was an ideal opportunity to present and raise awareness of the latest version of the IRAC Nematicide Mode of Action poster, recently updated in December 2021.  The poster was presented by the IRAC Nematode Working Group and was also selected as a flash-talk in the Integrated Nematode Management session at the Congress. Dr John Wiles had the opportunity to present the poster on behalf of the IRAC Nematode Working Group, and it was very well received by the audience, which comprised of academics, government officials, researchers, and industry representatives. Copies of both the poster and newly published IRAC 7th Edition Mode of Action Classification booklet were given to interested parties, and the feedback was very positive towards encouraging clearer labelling and classification of nematicide, in addition to insecticide, mode of actions. No doubt it was an effective way to raise awareness of the IRAC Nematicides Mode of Action classification scheme and it will help facilitate adoption and awareness of this material around the world.

  • IRAC Nematicide MoA Classification now available

The IRAC Nematode Working Group is the most recently established IRAC team. The initial objectives of the team were to investigate the resistance risk of nematicides and to develop a mode of action classification scheme similar to that available for insecticides and acaricides.

Both these objectives have now been completed with the publication of the Nematicide Resistance Risk Statement at the end of 2018 and more recently the release of the Nematicide MoA Classification and corresponding MoA poster in September 2019

  • IRAC forms a new Nematode Resistance Working Group

The initial objectives of the team will be to investigate the resistance risk of nematicides and to develop a mode of action classification scheme similar to that available for insecticides and acaricides. Information will be posted on the website under Nematode Team.
