Information from Dupont on triflumezopyrim, their new mesoionic insecticide for control of rice hoppers, has been reviewed by the IRAC MoA WG and a classification to Group 4E agreed. The first registration for triflumezopyrim is expect in 2015 after which the active will be include in the IRAC MoA Classification Scheme. Meanwhile a new appendix will be added to the scheme to cover actives such as triflumezopyrim that have been classified but are pending registration.
Tetraniliprole, a new anthranilic diamide has been added to Group 28 and Spiropidion has been added to Group 23, Tetronic and Tetramic Acid Derivatives. The latest issue of the IRAC MoA Classification (ver. 7.3) has now been released and posted on the MoA Team page of the website. Changes include the renaming of a couple of groups/sub-groups (Group 9 is now “Modulators of Chordotonal Organs” and Subgroup 8D is now “Borates”) and the addition of flupyradifurone into a new Subgroup 4D, called Butenolides. The joint IRAC booth with DuPont and Syngenta was a great success with a large number of guest visiting the booth during the two days. IRAC’s primary activities were shown on the displayed material and the handouts of the mode of action poster (Japanese and English versions) and the mode of action booklet to key researchers in Japan.
