On the 4th and 5th of February a meeting of IRAC India was held in Delhi. Information from Dupont on triflumezopyrim, their new mesoionic insecticide for control of rice hoppers, has been reviewed by the IRAC MoA WG and a classification to Group 4E agreed. The first registration for triflumezopyrim is expect in 2015 after which the active will be include in the IRAC MoA Classification Scheme. Meanwhile a new appendix will be added to the scheme to cover actives such as triflumezopyrim that have been classified but are pending registration.
The Chewing Pest WG is a new group for IRAC combining the past Lepidoptera and Coleoptera WGs and complements the Sucking Pest WG. These two key groups sit within the IRAC Crop Protection Team along with the Nematode WG.
